Earth Day 2022 – The Netherlands
That Nature First chose to launch on Earth Day 2019 should surprise no one. The commitment to photograph our natural world whilst putting the importance of nature foremost in our priorities is an extension of the commitment to be a steward to our earth and to sustainability.
Tag der Erde
Am 22. April ist der Tag, an dem wir die Erde ehren und uns aktiv zu ihrem Schutz bekennen. Überall auf der Welt kommen die Menschen zusammen, um auf die Belange der Umwelt aufmerksam zu machen. Vor drei Jahren, am Tag der Erde 2019 wurde Nature First als internationale Initiative für verantwortungsbewusste Naturfotografie gegründet. Heute hat Nature First Mitglieder überall auf der Welt.

We honor Earth and pledge ourselves to its protection. People all over the world join forces in activities to raise awareness for our environment.
Three years ago, on Earth Day 2019 Nature First was launched as an international initiative for responsible nature photography and it has spread all over the world since then.
What is it with Man and Nature?
I’m a nature photographer. Whenever I take my camera out I do it with open eyes, an open mind, and an open heart. I connect, I engage, I interact, and receive so much back. Nature photographers come in many different shapes and sizes. We use photography in a documentary way to preserve what we have seen as accurately as possible.

Here in Colorado the snow has been coming down, coloring the world a dozen shades of white. Many of the wild creatures have gone into hibernation or traveled south for the winter, while a few of the hardier animals can be seen making their way through the deep snow in search of nourishment. Though the weather is at times harsh, this is also a time of great beauty.

Als ik dat van iemand had verwacht, dan was het wel van hem. Voor mij een uitgelezen kans om hem meteen uit te nodigen voor een interview voor Nature First.

Living near a volcano like Etna has certainly influenced my way of seeing the world and natural beauties. I have always been fascinated by Nature, every time I find myself in front of it, in a forest or on the top of a mountain, I feel how everything is magically interconnected, everything exists in a delicate symbiosis perfectly balanced.
